CARBON is a interactive wildlife magazine designed to spread the joy of science and learning about nature across all ages.
To increase interactivity, the clicking on any of the subjects in the contents page takes the reader to the selected page, and clicking on the logo at the top right or left takes the user to the first page of the magazine.
The magazine is split into four sections. Each section revolves around a specific environment, providing the reader a peek into its world.
The magazine contains images and illustrations of animals and environments. The visual language was largely inspired by the science books I grew up with.
I gave every subject page its own theme to reflect the environment in its contents in order to make every section stand out in its own way. This one was inspired by old adventure film posters.
To create a immersive experience, I made it feel like the animals were crawling onto the page, giving the viewer the feeling they were actually entering a forest. I also made sure that almost everything on any page had an interaction.
Most sections are ecosystems we all think of when we think of the word "ecosystem". However, I thought it would be interesting as a design subject to tackle the sky and the living creatures that fly through it.
