CLIENT: TRT WORLD
“Freewords: A Poet from Gaza” is a documentary by TRT World detailing the life & experiences of Palestinian poet Mosab Abo Touha and his homeland, Palestine. I was hired to create scenes for an animated sequence that depicts him and his family’s journey trying to leave Gaza after October 7th, which leads to him getting arrested and tortured by the IDF, and eventually being released and leaving. I designed the storyboard for the animation, and the characters and backgrounds which were then put into motion by the animation team.
"When airstrikes intensified, we had to go to an UNRWA school. As my youngest child is an American citizen, we got our names to depart from Gaza through Rafah Border."
"Even if our names were enlisted and approved by Israeli Army to be able to depart, I was ordered to separate from my family and join the other line with other men."
